The new Olympic gymnastics gymnasium had to follow the international standards dimensions. In order to achieve this, it was necessary a deployment on the existing constructions. This specific site ordered a special attention to the surroundings, like the previous gymnasium, designed by Gregori Warchavchik in 1958, a notable project that should be respected by the new implementation. In the design, the two gyms are separated by a soccer court, a blank space that allows a dialog between both: the angled side façade by Warchavchik, sets a counterpoint with the horizontal new gymnasium’s façade, that imposes itself as a contemporary edification by its materials: steel sheets and glass.
